Making and Finalizing the Second Magazine Article Page

With the first magazine page done, I knew there was a second to be made but I didn't have a clear idea of what to do with it other than that it had to include the rest of the article that was not in the first magazine article page. I didn't have another picture I felt could work or fit for the second page of the magazine article that could be a good representation of what the article was talking about, so I decided that the page would just be what was left from my article along with a folio at the bottom that said "March 2024" at the left side of it and "13 | Feature Article" at the right side of it. The idea I did have for this page was that the text that was leftover from my article that wasn't in the first magazine article page would be split into blocks of information, just like the first article page, that would cover the majority of the page as there was so much text left and there was not going to be a picture on this image. ...

With the template chosen for inspiration, the changes in mind, and the article written it was time to make the first page of the magazine article. Here is the final version of my first magazine article page. I forgot to mention that I also wanted to add a caption under the image that I would select for the article along with adding a folio that says "March 2024" on the left side of it and "12 | Feature Article" on the right side of it.

Every year, moviegoers are expecting and excited for many new and interesting films to keep them entertained. With the new year, we have a new lineup of films set to release, varying from the musical comedy “Mean Girls” to the science fiction monster film “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” With all this in mind, here are some of 2024’s most anticipated films. First, we have “Mean Girls,” an adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical, which is an adaption of the original 2004 film (Couch, 2024). The film, directed by Tina Fey, who was in the original movie, takes a modern approach to the original and stars Renee Rapp, Angourie Rice, and Jon Hamm. Next, we have the action-packed comedy “Argylle,” directed by Matthew Vaughn and focuses on novelist Ellie Conway, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, who is witnessing events from her spy novels go from fiction to reality. The cast is stacked, with actors such as Dua Lipa, Henry Cavill, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, and Ariana Debose making their appe...
Research: Finding the Most Anticipated Films of 2024

With a clear vision of what I wanted my article to be about, it was time to begin researching what the most anticipated films were of 2024 and write about that information in my article. Upon my research, I took notice that there were a variety of lists with countless movies on them spanning from the beginning of the year all the way to the end. With so many lists, I decided to mainly focus on one or two and write my article mainly based on the information on those lists. The lists that my article was mainly based on were Variety's " The Most-Anticipated Movies of 2024" and The Hollywood Reporter's "Most Anticipated Movie Releases of 2024" lists. But as said before, these lists contain so many movies, and not evidently not all can be featured in the article. So I indicated early on in my article that I would be covering some of the most anticipated movies of 2024 and did just that.
Making the Article Pages: Inspiration

While I had the vision to make a magazine article about the most anticipated movies of 2024, I was not sure how I was going to make the magazine article pages. But thankfully, I found this magazine article page in the same template I used as inspiration for my magazine cover page. While it was a great help and inspiration for the first magazine article page, I immediately knew there would be some changes made. I was considering using a pull quote on my page, but I thought it was too conflicting and complicated to format alongside my article, especially when I was not sure at this time how my article would look when formatted into this page. I would not use the same font for the title and would change the pink to red to better suit the color palette and theme of my magazine. The picture would also be cropped so that it does not look like it completely covers a portion of the page and that the page borders would be more vi...
Making the Table of Contents Page: The Final Draft

After selecting and integrating elements from the two examples I found online, I made my table of contents page, and here is the final draft or the final version of it. Besides the elements I took from the two examples, I also took some of my own liberties on this page which are: the integration of the "March 2024 Issue" text on the right side of the same line where the "Contents" title is and a folio that has "*All Photos by Bryan Pinero" highlighted in black along with "2 | Table Of Contents" in red to indicate the page. All page number folios will follow this format and have this color.

So with the two examples, I started making my table of contents page, and I was satisfied with how it was turning out. I felt like the mixing of the two examples served as a great base for making the page. For the title, I took inspiration from the first example and added "Contents" as the title in a modern-looking font, with a line below it, which I made red because I felt that it is such an important color of the palette that must be integrated when necessary. From the first example, I also took inspiration from the image layout and selected four images, some of which I took in the photography session I had at the theater, and others that I already had in my iPhone 12 that could work as pictures for some of the "contents" that I had listed in this page. I then organized these images similarly to how the first example did. I also took inspiration from the first example by giving descriptions of the "contents" right below them. Finally, the last ...

The next step for the magazine was to make the table of contents, to which I had very little knowledge or a firm basis on what a magazine table of contents looks like, so I began researching and found some magazine table of contents online that I could take inspiration from when making my own. Eventually, I found the two tables of contents shown above and thought that these two would work well as bases for how I'd make my own table of contents page. I feel like there were good elements in both pieces that I could use and integrate into my own "contents" page. I don't want to fully base my "contents" page on either example, and felt that the two would be really well mixed together so that would be the focus for how I'd make my table of contents page.

After some complications, I have finalized my magazine cover page, and here is the final draft of it. I am very satisfied with how it turned out. Although it was complicated getting to this point, the struggles were worth it so that I could have been able to make this magazine cover page that I like and also fulfill the desires and ideas I had while making it.
