Research and Inspiration: The Cover Page

    Although I had not yet taken any pictures, the next step for me was to research and look for magazine cover pages online so I could have a template to work with and base my magazine cover. For the research, I went on Canva, which is the platform I said I would use to create the magazine and went on the platform's search bar and began to look for magazine templates.

     Upon entering the search bar, I was hit with a plethora of options and templates to work with. I began to look at the options and found one that I could work with until I could begin to take the pictures and then upload the chosen pictures onto the magazine. 

    Finally, I would choose the magazine cover above as my inspiration for my magazine cover. I felt like it was a workable template on which I could base my magazine cover while also having the conventions that made it look like a real magazine cover that I could use as inspiration for my own magazine cover.

     Another important step that was necessary to create the magazine was picking out the fonts. Out of all the different text sections or text boxes, the font for the title of the magazine was by far one of the most important, if not the most important for me to focus on and really the pick one that I both like and feel suits the magazine as the title is one of the first components that grabs the eye when looking at a magazine.     For the title, I already had a vision of how I wanted it to look or at least, a foundation of the essentials for the title font. I felt that the title font should look modern, good while capitalized, and devoid of looking formal, such as cursive fonts or fonts with serifs. Every year, moviegoers are expecting and excited for many new and interesting films to keep them entertained. With the new year, we have a new lineup of films set to release, varying from the musical comedy “Mean Girls” to the science fiction monster film “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” With all this in mind, here are some of 2024’s most anticipated films.
